TOTALBid What is TOTALBid?
TOTALBid is an online transportation trading exchange that enables shippers to solicit and pragmatically evaluate carrier bid packages via the Internet. Unique to TOTALBid is a reverse auction methodology that assigns grades (A, B, C, D or F) to carriers throughout the bidding process. Grades are assigned based on how well carriers perform against a shipper's rate benchmarks, in addition to their ability to meet the shipper's service requirements. TOTALBid is suited for bids entailing any mode of transportation and accommodates multi-mode bid packages.

Proactive Freight Tracking & Tracing

Your end customers will appreciate LMS' proactive tracking & tracing services, which are designed to prevent shipping issues and maintain high service standards. LMS' transportation management system (TMS), TOTAL, provides an electronic means of tendering loads, receiving acceptance/decline responses and obtaining status information. This means TOTAL can be used to alert LMS staff to potential shipping problems. Through automated background processing, data messages are interpreted to determine whether a particular message, or absence of a message, should identify a load or shipment as a "hot situation". This "manage by exception" process allows our staff to proactively address potential customer satisfaction issues.

Freight Optimization

LMS analyzes your shipping data to determine which LMS optimization strategies - Best Practices will effectively cut your freight cost while maintaining or improving customer service levels. Each LMS Best Practice targets one or more motor carrier market segments, i.e. small mark LTL, full capacity TL, etc. By employing a portfolio of Best Practices, we can significantly reduce your overall freight spend.

A component of our proprietary TMS, TOTAL, TOTALOptimization combines Web-native technology with LMS Best Practices to optimize shipments and create daily ship plans. This program accepts manual and/or electronic client orders and, like all TOTAL components, easily integrates into existing TMS/ERP systems.

Freight Collaboration

By leveraging the collective freight activities of LMS' high-volume clients, individual shippers can significantly reduce transportation costs. LMS offers two types of multi-shipper collaboration programs:

To facilitate collaboration, LMS runs participating shippers' data through TOTALOptimization and TOTALCM to identify co-loading and/or continuous move opportunities. TOTAL is programmed with freight compatibility and service parameters to ensure loads are matched safely and according to each company's specifications. Once loads are matched and routes are configured, LMS generates a ship plan for review. Once the plan has been approved, LMS transportation planners tender the shipments and work with carriers to ensure proper execution.

LMS determines cost savings using agreed-upon benchmarks set forth by all participating shippers. LMS then distributes savings according to a class-adjusted ton/mileage formula, which takes into consideration each company's freight weight, product classification and miles shipped. As a third party facilitator, LMS ensures savings are allocated appropriately and proprietary shipping data remains confidential. Shippers' online visibility is password protected and limited to their respective freight data.

Taking advantage of collaborative shipping opportunities can be the difference between meeting and exceeding cost and service goals. LMS' collaboration technology and processes have enabled shippers to transcend their own operations and achieve performance levels that were seemingly unobtainable.
